AIICT announces Certified Data Science Professional course featuring Microsoft content

Course takes individuals with zero industry experience, to job-ready analysts in just six months

The Australian Institute of ICT (AIICT)

The Australian Institute of ICT (AIICT) has announced today a new ‘Certified Data Science Professional’ course featuring Microsoft certification content for Data Science. AIICT is a start-up launched in 2019 by DDLS, one of Australia’s largest providers of corporate IT and cybersecurity training, and Microsoft Gold Learning Partner.

The course is designed specifically for aspiring machine learning and data science professionals and takes individuals with zero industry experience, to job-ready analysts in just six months.

“AIICT always aims to provide the most contemporary, relevant and future-focused skills for students to succeed – and Data Science is an area that is experiencing remarkable growth” said Jon Lang, CEO of DDLS. “The flexibility of the Certified Data Science Professional course structure is a key element in meeting the skyrocketing demand in the field – we need data scientists right now, and this new course enables an individual to start whenever they are ready, and enter into a well-paying role in just six months”, added Lang.

Data science is one of the key emerging occupations expected to see significant growth in the next few years, according to the National Skills Commission. Between 2015 and 2019, the occupation experienced a growth rate of 492% , with Data scientists in Australia currently reporting a median salary of $92K .

The Certified Data Science Professional course prepares individuals for a role as a junior data scientist, and through its unique Industry Partner Program, AIICT connects recent graduates with leading employers to help them secure a front-line role, while simultaneously tackling skills shortages in the field.

The course incorporates four globally recognised Microsoft Certifications, which focus on the fundamentals of data, artificial intelligence (AI), Microsoft Azure, and advancing to the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate certification.

“We are pleased about the launch of this new data science offering, especially in such a high-demand area. By combining Microsoft’s certifications, with AIICT’s course delivery and flexible study options, this course will enable the next round of job-ready data scientists for the Australian market,” said Geoff Hirsch, Senior Director of Microsoft’s Learning Partner Channel.

Some of the course’s key learning outcomes include:

  • Learning about the data science process and the role of the data scientist
  • Understanding the fundamentals of database and artificial intelligence concepts in a cloud environment, and specifically in Azure
  • Gaining the skills in driving automation across the entire data science process
  • Gaining knowledge of the machine learning pipeline from beginning to end, including the management and monitoring of machine learning models
  • Students can also access learning material on key technologies which are critical to data science such as SQL, Python and R.

Furthermore, the course gives students access to unique hands-on labs powered by CloudSwyft, which enable them to develop their real-world skills in a live environment, ensuring they are job-ready on course completion.

“CloudSwyft is highly passionate about supporting the adoption of future-ready skills across Australia. Our Hands-on Labs integration allows learners to gain practical technology experience through real world applications in live, cloud-based environments, ensuring they are ready for the exciting next step in their technology careers. We are thrilled to partner with DDLS, AIICT and Microsoft on the Data Science Professional Course” said Dann Angelo De Guzman, Founder and CEO of CloudSwyft.

AIICT operates using a unique self-paced course schedule, which is not bound by the traditional academic structures of terms and semesters. The flexible learning options allow students to build an online learning schedule around their life and encourages people who may not have considered a career in data science as an option previously, to undertake training.

Whilst the course is delivered remotely, the AIICT platform allows students to join a community of like-minded individuals for communication and collaboration as they progress through the course.

The course utilises multi-platform learning environments including video content, quizzes, live labs, expert led webinars, live chat, networking opportunities and online mentorship from industry experts who guide students through course material. Finding your Career Amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic

Finding your Career Amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic

The current Covid-19 pandemic the world is recovering from has brought about a number of challenges to every nation. The world as a whole has been in a virtual stand-still for months, only now starting to recover from the pandemic. Each nation has been faced with trials and each has had a different approach towards recovery.

In Indonesia, one of the issues that has made it’s effect known is in the employment sector. Several members of the workforce have been let go from their jobs in an attempt for preservation and sustaining losses for different companies, in effect, the Indonesian population has had an increase in it’s unemployment rate. The Indonesian government has answered the challenge of unemployment brought about by the pandemic’s economic effect in the country with the Kartu Prakerja project. Kartu PraKerja is the Indonesian Government’s work competency development program aimed at Indonesian citizens of at least 18 years of age and who are high school graduates, vocational graduates, job seekers or laid-off employees that will benefit from competency and skills improvements. The Government will distribute pre-employment cards to qualified participants who can register online. These cards will each have ‘upskilling credits’, with a maximum balance of IDR 3,000,000 for online courses and IDR 7,000,000 for offline training class offerings. The current budget for this program is IDR 10 Trillion.

This is where CloudSwyft comes in. In partnership with Microsoft and MyEdusolve, Cloudswyft delivers a powerful solution that provides Indonesia’s modern workforce with the unique opportunities to future-proof population through developing higher value skills that will move them up the value chain and provide them with better career path options. The Kartu Prakerja participants can choose from courses on Data Analysis, AI, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Cloud, Data Science, Front-End Development, IT Support and DevOps online course and certification programs among others, which can provide job opportunities ranging from data analyst, cloud support, system operations and software engineering roles.

Among the number of Indonesians who have been displaced is Adi Nurjaman. Adi a 24-year old former banker has been “temporarily not put to work” as was stated in the letter he received from his previous employment. He was looking for a back-up plan and learned about the Indonesian Government’s Kartu Prakerja project through news and various social media channels. He wanted to find out if he could get help. When he signed up for the Kartu Prakerja courses, Adi was not expecting to get any job offer from anywhere.

Adi, prior to the pandemic, has been pursuing an IT degree while working in the bank, with the hopes of finding an IT-related career that suited him once he finished his new degree. Having an interest in IT, Adi has taken on an IT Support Fundamentals online course by CloudSwyft, offered in the MyEduSolve platform. He was planning to use up his Kartu Prakerja credits and go through the courses, then find a job, armed with new knowledge, certificate in hand. He finished 5 sessions of the IT Support Fundamentals course in 3 hours and was in line to receive his certification the next day.

With his certificate, was a surprise waiting for Adi. He got a call from non-other than CloudSwyft Founder and CEO, Dann Angelo De Guzman, congratulating him on his near perfect exam result. It was fate that brought Adi to the Kartu Prakerja project, and within CloudSwyft’s range as the company was looking to expand in the Indonesian Education Technology Market. Adi was the best candidate to fill the Platform Support Analyst that the company was looking to fill. He was both surprised and happy that a job was offered in the field he wanted to go to, IT, as his major.

Adi is now part of the growing CloudSwyft global family as the new Platform Support Analyst for the Indonesian market. He has, since joining in May 2020, recommended the Kartu Prakerja Project to his family and friends, going so far as helping them sign up for the project, to share the great outcome he has experienced with the project.

If you’re an Indonesian, looking for a job, you too can get the career of your dreams with the Kartu Prakerja project. Visit https://myedusolve.cloudswyft.co/ to learn about the courses you can take to improve your career path and get you future-ready!

CloudSwyft partners with Microsoft to provide cloud-based training modules for technology skills

Operating a business today means that companies have to keep up with a fast-paced and competitive world; more and more traditional companies are moving toward digitalisation and are embracing new technologies to improve their operations.

And it is not just processes or systems that needs upgrading. As jobs evolve due to technology, people skills also need to evolve along with it. But as a business, how exactly do you ensure that your employees reach their potential and develop their skills at par with company standards?

By doing, of course. Think back to when you’re learning new skills. Didn’t you learn faster and better when you start doing the actuals tasks and putting theory into practice? The traditional dyad of theory + practice is a tried and tested system for learning. It may be a bit difficult in today’s business environment, however, especially when you factor in remote workers, small teams, and the fact that knowledge and skills required is fluid.

While CloudSwyft has been an official independent software vendor partner of Microsoft since, targeting Education and Cloud Solutions Partner Customers since 2016, this recent development with Open edX allows CloudSwyft to offer Microsoft-authored tech course modules, custom LMS platform, and Microsoft-sealed verified certificates – powered by CloudSwyft’s cloud labs technology for practice learning and graded lab assessments.

One of CloudSwyft’s clients is Info-Alchemy Corp., one of the Philippine’s largest big data consulting companies. Info-Alchemy Corp. specialises in data analytics and business intelligence solutions within the public sector and corporate enterprises in the country.

“With CloudSwyft, our PowerBI course offerings will be strengthened through performance-based hands-on lab environments. Microsoft’s content sweetens the solution more as it becomes a whole package to drive Data Science and Machine Learning capability development even more, which is not very rampant in the region,” said Emil Capino, President and CTO of Info-Alchemy.

Currently operating in the Philippines, CloudSwyft has plans of entering other markets in Southeast Asia, taking that first step in its partnership with EP-TEC solutions, an e-business solutions provider for growing and established enterprises that operates in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

“We are a young enterprise software company, our vision in addressing the tech skills development problem is bold. It’s hard, but that’s what makes it extremely relevant,” said De Guzman.

CloudSwyft launched in 2015 backed by seed funding from Future Now Ventures.
